Is there a statistician in the house!?!?

When funny coincidences happen, some folks yell conspiracy, corporate election tampering, etc. etc. Others find the standard deviations and test the differences of the means, to estimate the probability it happened by chance. Then -- when appropriate -- they yell conspiracy.

The world has conspiracies than coincidences so statistically it always make sense to claim conspiracy?

Probably not what you were saying but I like it

Well, I meant to say that it's stupid to claim a conspiracy based purely on seemingly improbable numbers, as some on the left are doing. You can very easily analyze those numbers using simple statistical tools first, thus either strengthening your claims or maybe avoid sounding stupid. But I think I'll go with NEguy's idea instead, just for style points.
