PSA

Starbucks is closing 600 shops. If you want to know if your local is shuttering, check out this list.

I don't really go to Starbucks, so this has no effect on me. But I do notice that the two closing in LA (only two?--we must love Starbucks) seem to be in South Central.

I also see the one on Groesbeck and Utica out in the Detroit metro area is closing. Used to live around there.

Aw, man. The only one within 3 miles of my house, that's on the way from home to the driving range, is closing. I'm in that Starbucks at least twice a week -- I guess more of my neighbors needed to take up golf.

Sayanora Starbucks. Their ridiculously expensive beverages is almost as big a hoax perpetrated on the public as wine. I've tried lotsa different wines and granted, some are better than others, none (not one!) ever tasted nearly as good as grape juice. Oh, but the '52 grape had much more character than the '53 --balderdash; whaddabunchacrap.
I liked the movie Sideways. Too bad it centered on wine.

Eh, I pay $2.30 for a venti unsweetened black iced tea. Sure it's twice what I'd pay for a bigger iced tea at McDonalds, but on the bright side, it actually tastes good. I have no opinion re coffee -- I've never had a cup of the stuff in my life. But wine, well, that we could discuss for a while.

not a big wine, coffee, or iced tea drinker here. i think wine got going because of religion. i agree with mikey, though, that grape juice tastes better than wine.

I think wine got going because it tastes yummy and gets you high. Grape juice is terrific stuff, but with a good, rare steak, nothing goes like a glass of good red wine.

Queensguy personifes exactly what I mean. Your words are that with a good, rare steak, nothing goes like a glass of red wine. I assume you mean that red wine and rare steak are a very tasty combination. You've been brainwashed along with the rest of the unsuspecting public (for centuries now...) that wine is some sort of delicacy that can not only stand alone, but enhance food! It's right in there with food/drink tasters and food critics -- mularkey. Oh and white wine goes better with fish. Well, duh! Certain drinks taste better with certain foods, but grape juice Always tastes better than wine.
