Nick Reynolds

Nick Reynolds of the Kingston Trio has died. The band is not that well remembered today, but from the late 50s till just before The Beatles broke in America, they were the Led Zeppelin of folk music. They had 14 top ten albums, including 5 #1's that topped the charts for a combined 46 weeks.

Their best known song, "Tom Dooley," went to #1 as well. But their catalogue goes pretty deep. But why talk about it. Let me show you a few:

"Greenback Dollar"

"Early Morning Rain"

And one for New England Guy, "M.T.A."

THanks LA Guy, have been re-listening to all of these songs.

For update sake, despite the fact that the MBTA (successor to MTA) is close to insovency. doubled its ridership during gas crisis, and way behind on maintenance/upgrades, the workers union have announced their intention to "slow down" (PR geniuses they are not)if they do not get a 13.6% raise, so now if you don't have a correctly-programmed "Charlie card" (successor to exact change), you will never return very very slowly
