30 > 60

It's been a long time since I, or anyone, I assume, blogged about 30 Rock versus Studio 60. But I couldn't help but be reminded of it with the latest 30 Rock, where show-within-the-show star Jenna Maroney lobbied for the movie role of Janis Joplin. There was a whole subplot on Studio 60 where show-within-the-show star Harriet Hayes was hoping to play Anita Pallenberg in a movie.

Are 30 Rock writers looking back for plots, figuring it's safe now? (And speaking of 30 Rock taking from Aaron Sorkin, doesn't Jenna Maroney sound a lot like Janel Moloney?

And 30 Rock sounds like Third Rock A show now so old that the sex symbol is playing mom roles on crime/med dramas

Third Rock may be old -- but it's normally about a year and half from sex symbol to Mom roles for actresses.

I can never remember the name "Desperate Housewives," without calling it "Designing Women" first.
