Here's a post from March 11, 2008:
I have a friend who made a prediction about the first thing our next President will do, whoever it is. First official action: granting amnesty to all analog TV owners and put back the transition to HDTV from February 17, 2009 to 2010.
Now there's a story out on Obama wanting to delay the transition.
I have plenty of other predictions as to what he'll do, but maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.

I agree with the commentator on NPR this morning that lots of money has been spent to publicize this deadline, and if you change it nobody who isn't already compliant would ever believe you about the next deadline either. This planned change was first announced when my 9 year old daughter was just a twinkle in QueensGal's eye; sometimes you've just got to treat people like grown-ups.
Maybe it's another stimulus package for TV stations. Does the government pay them for all those commercials to repeat endlessly how to "make the switch?"
Hey, thanks! I am glad someone besides me remembered my correct prediction. If only I could do that in the stock market....
