Another Year To Go
Some reviewers are calling Breaking Bad's "4 Days Out" its "Pine Barrens." It is about two guys, due to criminal activity, stuck in the middle of nowhere, with death a clear possibility. Still, it didn't have the same vibe.
Maybe it's one place was hot while the other was freezing. More likely, it's that "Pine Barrens" was a bit off-series, whereas the two leads of Breaking Bad going out to the desert to cook meth is what this show is about.
Of course, to Walt, dying in the desert isn't that frightening, since he thinks he only has a few weeks to live anyway. In fact, when he gets good news from his doctor, it's tough for him to take. His courageous gangster lifestyle is based on how little time he has left.
Now that Jesse has a lot more meth to sell, Walt has a lot more time to live, and both are set up to properly launder their loot, I can see how this show is set up for a third season.
