Book 'Em

Here's an idea I endorse, from professor of English Mark Edmundson. Let's get rid of "readings" and just go back to reading. In other words, let the student be inspired by the book itself. Let the student be transformed by the book itself. And not the interpretative overlay the professor forces onto it.

There'll be time enough to learn about Marx or Freud or Derrida. First, accept the text on its own terms and see what happens.
