Unkept Promise

A year ago there were rumors Anne Hathaway would star in the first full-blown Broadway revival of Promises Promises. Then she decided against it. Not entirely sure why. Perhaps she thought it was too retro. Or she realized Fran Kubelik plays second fiddle to Chuck Baxter. Or she didn't want to be tied down for too long.

So let me say this: Anne, change your mind. The part's perfect for you. You'll be the toast of Broadway. You get some great numbers--"Knowing When To Leave," "I'll Never Fall In Love Again"--and some great gags. I promise I'll take a trip to New York just to see your show.
