Poor Bond Outlook

The story is that Sam Mendes will direct--or maybe just consult on--the new James Bond film. This may be star Daniel Craig's wish, but is it anyone else's?

Mendes' talent has generally been for small, moody films, like American Beauty and Revolutionary Road. Craig worked for Mendes on the closest thing he's done to action--Road To Perdition--and I wouldn't say the results were great.

They've got a great formula over at the James Bond machine. Do they really want to mess with it?
