Tree of Life
Today on boston.com, I saw jump headlines for a review of Tree of Life (the early ones are gone now so this is from memory and I presume they are all to the same review). Here they are in the order I saw them.
"Tree of Life a mess"
"Tree of Life is hard to understand"
"Tree of Life is visionary"
"Malick's Tree of Life open to interpretation"
I'll wait for LA Guy's review
NOTE-its Rated: PG-13 for "suffering, both human and dinosaur"

I liked it but but it's the kind of art house film that you have to be careful about recommending. I don't think I'll review it at length any time soon, but I'm sure it'll appear in my year-end wrap-up.
What no Malick retrospective?
I liked Badlands though I keep remembering as Charlie rather than Martin in the lead role
The trailer for the film turned me off (though they didn't play up the dinosaur bit- seemed like it was a "very important film" about the goddam boomers and their f*cking hopes and dreams) but then I heard it was Malick and thought it should at least be a little interesting
Here's a lengthy discussion of Malick to hold you until the end of the year:
