Praiseworthy

Personally, I'm a fan of Bitter Bierce and his definition of homicide, so it's no surprise that I was exercised by Martin O'Malley's commutation of all death sentences.

But it turns out the legislature banned capital punishment prospectively. Fair enough. It's bad policy, but it's theirs. Marty might regret missing the opportunity to fly home during his presidential campaign to ensure the execution of a slow-witted condemned man, but that's his lookout.

Ricky Ray resisted arrest, shooting an officer twice in the head. After that, he shot himself in the head, which is why he couldn't understand things too well.

Is that a defense of Mr. Hillary Rodham? Or is it a condemnation?
