John Lewis has died.

Lewis was the leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and was one of the first Freedom Riders, as well as an organizer of the March on Washington.

He had a long political career after that, but, no matter what else, will always be remembered as one of the leading lights of the civil rights movement.
