Keep Hope Alive

Hey, look at that! I'm actually excited Michigan's good enough to defeat Western Michigan.

Wasn't much of a game. The score was 31-7, and it was over early. Michigan killed them in the first half. Trouble is, they didn't show up in the second half. In fact, Western Michigan won the second half 7-0.

Michigan has some holes--boy do they--but at least they can play competently. (All that extra practice is paying off.)

Next week, Notre Dame, and we'll discover what the real deal is.

the real deal? Check recent history and i think you'll see that both teams have slipped enough to render this a virtual meaningless matchup. und has a very weak schedule this year, so they could win a lot of games and then get crushed by a superior (and true) BCS opponent.

Notre Dame is a ranked team. Maybe not ranked very high, but they're in the top 25. Meanwhile, Michigan was 3-9 last year. If they can beat Notre Dame, that means they have an excellent chance of finishing over .500 and even have a longshot chance at the Big Ten.

the game is getting the hype because of the (involved) history, the sizes of the alumni, and the fact that the game is being covered nationally...
